A sham group calling itself the Movement for Justice in El Barrio keeps maligning landlord Steven Kessner by having its reporter friends write articles about him. In reality, this movement is just a front for a group of squatters who have moved into several apartments owned by Kessner, are occupying them illegally and dangerously overcrowding them. These people are trashing their apartments and their buildings, living like animals and are trying to stave off eviction. Kessner is using legal avenues, through the courts, to try and reduce the overcrowding in his buildings and these tactics have just caused him to intensify his efforts. Unfortunately, he is receiving no help from the city agencies as HPD, DHCR, DOB , FDNY and DOH have all turned a blind eye to the problem.
